Ritchie Huang is the Manager of Engineering and Safety in the Compliance and Regulatory Affairs Division at Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA). Headquartered in Portland, Oregon DTNA is the largest heavy-duty truck manufacturer in North America.
Ritchie’s responsibilities are focused on a wide range of areas from product engineering, defects and investigations, compliance, and regulatory affairs. His primary focus is on automated vehicles, crash avoidance, and driver assistance systems where his role is to ensure that safety and regulation are both engineering based and data driven. He is based out of Washington, D.C. where he also interfaces with the United States Federal Government along with states on regulatory, policy, and legislative matters.
Ritchie joined Daimler in January 2017 after serving in the U.S. DOT’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Office of Crash Avoidance and Electronic Controls Research. He is an engineering graduate of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
